Tipped earlier today by French site href="http://www.blogeee.net/2011/11/asus-u32u-un-13-3-sous-amd-e450-pour-le-debut-2012/" target="_blank">Blogeee.net, the 13.3-inch Asus U32U is listed as featuring an AMD E-450 APU. The APU inside the Asus U32U packs a dual-core 1.65 GHz processor and AMD Radeon HD 6320 discrete-class graphics in one single low-power chip (18W TDP). According to leaked specifications battery life from the laptops included 8-cell Li-Ion battery is up to 12 hours, a feat that’s made possible in part by the low-power AMD E-450 APU.

The leaked specifications for the Asus U32U also list 2GB of DDR3 RAM, a 32GB hard drive, a web camera, USB 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Microsoft Windows 7 Home Basic or DOS, 1.75kg weight, 22mm thick, and a 2-year Global Warranty. The display specifications only state the 13.3-inch panel available on the Asus U32U has a native resolution of 1366×768, and the display has an LED backlight support.

The 9 Asus U32U-RX011R with Windows 7 and 9 Asus U32U-RX011D with DOS are both mentioned in the leaked product description.

The pricing is where Asus loses me. The AMD E-450 APU is a decent chip and the potential for 12 hours of battery life are all nice things, but the E-450 isn’t a very powerful chip. The E-450 is a chip designed for low-cost ultra-portables or high-spec. netbooks. The 9 price for the Windows 7 Home Basic equipped Asus U32U (the people are most likely to buy) is a bit too much in my opinion.
