href="http://usa.asus.com/Eee/" target="_blank">ASUS Eee PC netbooks, which number more than 20 at the moment, should have matte screens before the year is out.
At this time there are only a handful of ASUS Eee PC netbooks that come with matte screens, one such model is pictured above. As you can tell the screen offers no reflections at all, that is the point behind a matte screen. With a matte screen taking an ASUS netbook outside on a sunny day or into any brightly lit area isn’t such a bad idea.

Most netbooks and full-sized laptops ship with glossy screens, and those are not so nice in brightly lit areas. A display that is glossy is good for making colors pop, but the same glossy display can become completely unusable if it’s exposed to direct sunlight or strong in-door lights.
