MSI has added a new GT780DX model with a more powerful CPU, gaming laptop has begun shipping
MSI has introduced a more capable central processing chip for their 17.3-inch high-end gaming notebook, the MSI G Series GT780DX.
Originally introduced to the market with the title="MSI GT780DX launched, laptop gaming with a keyboard designed for gaming" href="http://laptop-computer-planet.com/blog/2011/09/06/msi-gt780dx-launched-laptop-gaming-with-a-keyboard-designed-for-gaming/" target="_blank">MSI GT780DX-215US model in September the gaming oriented GT780DX was powered by a 2.00 GHz (Turbo Boost 2.9 GHz) Intel Core i7-2630QM quad-core processor. Today a new model was spotted at retailers online, the MSI GT780DX-406US ( href="http://www.msimobile.com/level3_productpage.aspx?cid=6&id=337" target="_blank">models msimobile.com page), and the new model boasts a slightly faster chip with the 2.20 GHz (Turbo Boost 3.1 GHz) Intel Core i7-2670QM quad-core processor.
The new 2.20 GHz Intel Core i7-2670QM CPU brings a faster base clock speed (2.20 GHz vs. 2.00 GHz) and a higher Turbo Boost clock of (3.1 GHz vs. 2.9 GHz), but that’s not all. The 2670QM holds a higher Bus/Core Ratio (multiplier) with 22 over the 2630QM that has a Bus/Core Ratio of 20.
