MSI ups the video memory to 3GB for new GT780DX gaming laptops

According to MSI the new model features the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570M 3GB GDDR5 discrete DirectX 11 mobile GPU. The new MSI GT780DX is the third refresh in hardware that MSI has announced for the new (for 2011) gaming notebook. title="MSI has added a new GT780DX model with a more powerful CPU, gaming laptop has begun shipping" href="http://laptop-computer-planet.com/blog/2011/10/28/msi-has-added-a-new-gt780dx-model-with-a-more-powerful-cpu-gaming-laptop-has-begun-shipping/">Previously MSI introduced a new Intel Core i7 quad-core processor for the GT780DX which still packed the NVIDIA GeForce 570M 1.5 GB GDDR5 GPU the company launched the GT780DX with earlier in the year.

With the added video memory the GT780DX will be able to display larger resolutions with more ease. The display resolution is still stuck at 1920 x 1080 pixels for the GT780DX, though, so you’ll really only be able to get the extra benefits more video memory provides by attaching an extra external display. The GT780DX features an HDMI output port so adding an external display will be easy.
