New Apple Macbook Pros could be on the way, new models spotted in Apple inventory
According to href="http://9to5mac.com/2011/10/13/macbook-pros-constrained-new-models-appear-in-apples-inventory-system/" target="_blank">9to5mac the supply for the current family of Apple Macbook Pro laptops is running really low, and upon further investigation on their part three new ‘internal code names’ they believe are for the 13″, 15″ and 17″ Macbook Pro. The new code names include K90IA (13 inch), K91A (15 inch), and K92A (17 inch). At this time 9to5mac isn’t sure what kind of new things, if anything, is going to be included in the new models.
class="adsense adsense-midtext" style="text-align:center;margin: 12px;">However Apple could just be adding Bluetooth 4.0, new CPUs, and new GPUs to their Macbook Pro laptops. At this time the Apple Macbook Pro line is the only line of laptops for Apple that doesn’t yet have Bluetooth 4.0, current Macbook Pros have the aged Bluetooth 2.1+EDR standard built-in. With Bluetooth 4.0 there have been advancements in power efficiency when working wirelessly between two devices over Bluetooth signals. Apple’s new iPhone 4S features Bluetooth 4.0 as does the new Macbook Air’s.
I personally think that Bluetooth 4.0 and a refresh in the CPU options are the two most likely things. The mobile GPU technologies haven’t changed too much since the refreshed Macbook Pros were released earlier this year. However the CPUs available from AMD and Intel have changed since early 2011, but I see Apple adding one of the new mobile Intel Sandy Bridge chips and not the AMD Llano APUs given Apple’s history of using Intel processors for their laptops.
